Thermaltake TOUGHRAM XG RGB 16GB DDR4-4000 Memory Kit Review

When Thermaltake first introduced their TOUGHRAM memory I was a huge fan. It really is hard to come up with a heatspreader design that is different from others and they did that. Then of course they came out with an RGB version, the TOUGHRAM RGB. Now it seems we are on the second generation of TOUGHRAM RGB with the TOUGHRAM XG RGB, which brings with it a whole new heatspreader and RGB design with a total of 16 RGB LEDs per kit! Today we will be taking a look at the R016D408GX2-4000C19A which is a 16GB (8GBx2) kit running at 4000 MHz with timings of 19-23-23-42 at 1.35V. Is this the RGB kit you need for your next build? Read on as we find out!

Special thanks to Thermaltake for providing us with the TOUGHRAM XG RGB 16GB DDR4-4000 Memory Kit to review.

Opening the box up all we find inside is the memory in a typical clamshell package, but there is a thin piece of film protecting the glossy part of the memory.
