AMD Radeon RX 6600 Series Will Feature Up To 8GB GDDR6 Memory

AMD will soon launch its RDNA2 Navi 23 based card. It will be best suited for the mobile market, where it is common to use the cards for 1080p gaming and consuming content. The Navi-23 GPU will launch under the RX 6600 series. Although it has a small size, it is based on rDNA-2 architecture which offers various optimizations that allow it to compete against AMD’s popular RDNA1 based Radeon RX 5700 series. Prior to its release, Igor Wallossek has shared some exclusive information regarding the upcoming graphics card.

As per Igor’sLAB, AMD Navi 23 will have a die size of 235.76mm and will be rotated by 45 degrees within the card. The card will have a 35x35mm size and will have various power brackets ranging from 90W to 65W (Total Graphics Power) The laptop manufacturer set the TGP variant as per the design of their laptops.

Moreover, Igor was also able to access the BIOS of Navi 23 Mobile Radeon SKU, which tells that it will have a boost clock speed of up to 2350 MHz which will be lower than desktop variants and even lower than the rumored 2684 MHz.

Information on Memory and PCI Express:

The part of shared information discussing memory and interface data is the most interesting one yet. Igor states that upcoming Navi-23 based graphic cards will have 16GB RAM. However, this configuration will require 16Gbit (2GB) modules, which sounds like a waste for this entry-level SKU. Currently, it is unclear whether both Radeon RX models with Navi 23 will have an 8 GB capacity or not. There is a probability that AMD may launch Higher-capacity models under the Radeon Pro series later on.

Moreover, Igor also accessed a datasheet that shows that Radeon RX 6600 will have a PCIe Gen4 interface which isn’t surprising to know. It also confirms that the card will rely on the x8 width of the interface as an entry-level card will not require a full x16 interface due to the great bandwidth offered with PCIe Gen4.
