AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT Overclocked To 3321 MHz Breaking 3DMark Fire Strike World Record

The HWBOT website is down since the team OGS set the world record by being the first to overclock their PowerColor RX 6900 XT Red Devil (or Liquid Devil) to 3.3 GHz. Despite the site being down, evidence of the team’s remarkable achievement is still available.

AMD had locked the standard’ RX 6900 XT graphics cards to 3 GHz through BIOS settings. This created difficulty for overclockers; however, AMD recently released its new Navi 21 XTXH GPU, which is a pre-binned Navi 21 GPU. Graphic cards based on this SKU were used to break records as some board partners have already released cards based on this SKU. Currently, the following cards are available in the market: ASRock OC Formula, ASUS ROG STRIX LC TOP, Sapphire TOXIC Extreme, and PowerColor Red/Liquid Devil series.

Before the 3.3 GHz overclock record, the overclocker named der8auer achieved a 3.2 GHz overclock speed, but the card wasn’t even near the stable state. The recent record by OGS was broken using a 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme test which the card completed successfully. The tesselation was off, which means it was not a valid test as per UL standards, but HWBOT allows such results to be included. The test scored 37618 points (overall) and 41069 in graphics which led to OGS securing the first rank.

Fire Strike heavily favors AMD GPUs, which means we can’t clearly know which is the fastest card on HWBOT until other benchmarks are also included.
