Corsair Teases MP700 PCIe Gen5 x4 NVMe SSDs Featuring Up To 10 GB/s Read Speed

The Corsair ICUE Liquid coolers and DDR5 memory have gone on sale by now, but we are still waiting for the PCIe Gen5 storage which hasn’t been made available for consumers yet. This is only until AMD will launch its Ryzen 7000 CPU and its latest 600-series chipsets which will be compatible with the next-gen storage modules.

Corsair Gen5 SSD

The Corsair website which has been dedicated to AMD’s AM5 platform mentions the upcoming MP700 series SSDs. There is a chart published on the website which demos the performance of each of the generations of MP SSDs which include the MP510 with PCIe Gen3 support, MP600 Pro XT compatible with Gen4, and the newest upcoming MP700 series. This will be PCIe Gen5 x4 compatible M.2 storage which will be offering sequential read speeds of 10 GB/s and write speeds of 9.5 GB/s.

We are yet to see full product specs from Corsair. Let alone the specs, we haven’t even seen the new SSDs in pictures. Pricing is also another thing we would like to know soon. Last year, months ahead of Intel’s Alder Lake launch there were many offers on the DDR5 memory, however, this time around there seems to be no M.2 Gen5 storage in sight.

The company’s flagship MP600 XT Gen4 storage is currently selling for $ 240 (2 TB version), which means the MP700 Gen5 series are going to cost a lot more than this.
