EK Working on a Water Block for Latest Revision of the ASUS R9280X-DC2(T)

Some news has been on the wing that the premium water cooling gear manufacturer, EK Water Block is doing some homework for their newest full cover water block. This is being designed to support the ASUS R9280X-DC2(T) series of graphic cards which are based on one of the most powerful GPUs by AMD; the AMD Radeon R9 280X GPU.

Currently, ASUS has two different designs of the of R9280X-DC2(T) series graphics cards and one of them being the initial versions, namely the ASUS R9280X-DC2(T)-3GD5-V2, extends full compatibility with EK-FC7970 DCII water block. On the other hand, the ASUS R9280X-DC2(T)-3GD5 has been redesigned hence it cannot offer compatibility right away.

The latest EK-FC R9-280X DCII is going to feature high performance levels and they have to spic and span to be able to support the ASUS design Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II series graphics cards as they have been designed exclusively for these. The product is going to extend cooling solutions to not only the GPU but also the RAM and the VRM. With direct water flow over these critical areas, the graphics cards are going to remain relatively calm even under higher clock speeds.

A single ATX form factor motherboard can support up to four of these water blocks with the aid of the EK-FC Terminal (DUAL, TRIPLE or QUAD type) system or some other mode which offers interconnectivity.
