Fractal Design Pop Air RGB Case Review

Final Thoughts

When Fractal Design initially sent us over the Pop Air RGB, I said to myself this is the perfect $99 case. To my surprise the case is actually going to be $10 cheaper! At $89.99 you are getting a lot of value of this case! The overall construction of the case is really good, your get three included ARGB fans, proper ventilation, support for six hard drives out of the box, long graphics cards, and so much more!

One of the things I really like about the Pop Air RGB specifically is the color options. Most cases these days will have a black or white option, but with the Pop Air RGB you have the “colorful core” versions that all have a black exterior, but they have a contrasting interior and accent colors. The available colors are cyan, magenta, green, and orange. We took a look at the orange version today and I think that if you are interested in this case go for one of the “colorful core” options.

Another interesting thing about his case is the compartment towards the bottom of the case. I haven’t seen one of these on a case in a while, but it’s a nice little area to keep some of your smaller items. On top of that if you remove the tray you open up room to install two 5.25-inch drives, which is great for people who still use physical media these days.

I really like that we are seeing this trend of some case not only in different sizes, but also in high airflow and silent versions. So with Pop Fractal Design will be offering the normal mid-tower size, but also Pop Mini (mini-ITX only) and Pop XL (support up to E-ATX). On top of that you’ll get both Air and Silent versions. The Silent versions no not have a mesh front panel and will either come with a tempered glass or plain steel side panel. So no matter what hardware you have and how you plan on cooling your system Fractal Design will have a Pop variant for you.

Fractal Design is always known for their quality and this case is no different. It doesn’t seem as if Fractal cut any corners in terms of quality on this case, both panels are solid, all the drive trays are metal, and you have metal thumbscrews on everything. Obviously, there are some concessions in terms of what will fit in the case, but I think most people will be more than happy with what you get out of the box with this case.

If anyone would make the ultimate value case it would be Fractal Design and I think they’ve done a great job with the Pop Air RGB. You really can’t ask for much more given its price point. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Fractal Design Pop Air a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award.
