Gigabyte Introduces The Z170N-Gaming 5 Mini-ITX Motherboard

Gigabyte has just introduced a new Z170 mini-ITX motherboard in their G1 Gaming line. The motherboard is the Z170N-Gaming 5. The board features a 5-phase VRM and gets power from a combination of a 24-pin ATX power connection and a 8-pin EPS connector.

The CPU is wired to two full-size DDR4 DIMM slots, which support up to 32 GB of dual-channel memory and the board’s single PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot, which also has a reinforcing brace. As far as storage goes you have a 32 Gb/s M.2 slot on the reverse of the board, two SATA Express ports, and six SATA 6GB/s port. For USB you have two USB 3.1 ports (one type-C and one type-A), five USB 3.0 ports, and four USB 2.0 ports. Display outputs include dual-link DVI and HDMI ports.

As far as network connectivity goes you have gigabit Ethernet (Killer E2200 controller), 802.11 ac WLAN (up to 867 Mbps), and Bluetooth 4.2. Gigabyte’s 8-channel audio solution combines a 115 dBA SNR CODEC with audio-grade electrolytic capacitors, and a headphone amp. Pricing for the board should be just above the $150 range.
