Intel Core i5-11400 Rocket Lake-S CPU Benchmark Scores Leaked

Intel had already announced  that its 11th Gen Core CPU series will be available in Q1 2021. Despite this, the  leaks continue to appear on daily basis.

As per the Geekbench result page, the Intel i5-11400 features 6 cores and 12 threads. It also features a base clock speed of 2.6 GHz and a boost clock speed of up to 4.4 GHz.

Unfortunately, the processor is still based on the 14nm process technology, which will make it compatible with existing Intel 400-series motherboards. The 500 series of motherboards can be pre-ordered from retailer’s websites, but consumers will prefer the predecessors due to their cheap price tags.

As for the benchmarks, the CPU was tested on the MSI MPG Z490M GAMING EDGE motherboard. There is a possibility that an ES2 processor might be used for the benchmarks, which means the retail unit should offer the similar or same performance.

The Geekbench’s CPU benchmark ranking states that the processor is 5% faster than

the Comet Lake-S Core i5-10400 CPU despite the processor featuring a 300 Mhz lower base clock speed and higher boost clock speed by 100 Mhz

The benchmark scores show that the i5-11400 is quite close to Core i7-8700K in terms of performance, but the processor lacks behind AMD’s Zen3-based Ryzen 5 5600X CPU and that too by a 30% performance difference on single-core and multi-core scores.
