Intel will Release 12th Gen Alder Lake-S CPUs and 600 Series Motherboards in September

Intel will release two new generations of processors, Rocket Lake-S and Alder Lake-S this year. It will also release a new 600-series chipset motherboard.

Alder Lake S will be the first processor series to be based on the enhanced 10nm SuperFin along with a hybrid design.

Although Alder Lake-S is based on a different architecture, yet it remains in the domain of x86. The good thing is that it will feature a design in which higher performance cores and smaller power-efficient cores are paired together in a single processor.

Arm’s big.LITTLE approach proved beneficial for smartphones, but it remains to be seen how  Alder Lake-S performs in future.

Alder Lake-S was spotted in SiSoftware’s SANDRA database recently. As per the database, the processor will operate at a base clock speed of 1.8GHz and a boost clock speed of up to 4GHz. The processor will feature 16 cores, 32 threads, and 30MB of L3 Cache. Moreover, the Alder Lake-s will also support PCI Express 5.0 and DDR5 RAM.
