Intel’s 14nm Flagship CPU Core i9-11900K Rocket Lake Benchmark Scores Leaked

The word is around that Intel will release their new processor line up and it looks like the launch will take place soon as Intel’s flagship Rocket Lake-S Desktop CPU, Core i9-11900K, was spotted within the Ashes of The Singularity benchmark by TUM_APISAK.

The Core i9-11900K will feature eight cores and 16 threads. The entry was spotted today, which means the CPU is also being tested in gaming and other benchmarks. The picture shows the CPU is running at 3.50Gz, which is higher than the leaked benchmarks for another Intel chip. Both chips share eight cores, 16 threads, 16 MB of L3 cache, and 4 MB of L2 cache and the only difference is in clock speeds.

We are not sure that these early ES variants of the same chip or different chips altogether. The previous 3.4Ghz SKU might be a Core i7-11700K model, whereas this could be Core i9 as it features a higher clock base of 3.5Ghz. The 3.5Ghz SKU should be able to achieve a higher boost clock as the 3.4Ghz SKU was set to 5Ghz.

As these are the early ES chips, so we aren’t sure whether these are the final clock speeds or not. Moreover, Intel’s Core i7-10700K also featured a base clock of 3.5 GHz and a boost clock of up to 5.1 GHz, while the Core i9-10900K featured a 3.3 GHz base clock but a boost clock of up to 5.3 GHz. This is because the Core i9-10900K featured a higher number of cores and threads than the Rocket Lake lineup, which will be restricted to just eight cores and 16 threads for the top SKU. One more thing to take into consideration is that we are not aware whether the turbo boost technology was functional during benchmarks as intended within the game.

Whatever the technical specs are, let’s just get to the benchmark scores: Core i9-11900K Rocket Lake flagship CPU was able to achieve 62.7 FPS at 1440p and 64.7 FPS at 1080p. Both the tests were run on the highest quality preset available in Ashes of The Singularity benchmark, Crazy preset. As per the scores posted by Twitter user @___iMagic, the Ryzen 9 5950X is 10%(give or take) faster than Core i9-11900K in this specific benchmark.

We need to consider that the Ryzen 9 5950X features 16 cores and 32 threads, which is higher than i9-11900K. It is also priced at $799, which is a lot more than the expected prices of Intel Core i9.

As far as the technical specifications are concerned, it is expected that the chip will be based on LGA 1200 socket, which will arrive with Comet Lake-S CPUs. The Rocket Lake-S series Processors and the 5000-series will be launched at the same time.

It is said that the Rocket Lake processors will feature the Cyper Cove architecture. Sources say that it is a hybrid between the Sunny Cove and Willow Cove design but will feature Xe Gen 12 GPU architecture.

More information on Rocket Lake CPUs will be available as sources say that Z90 series motherboards that will feature Thunderbolt 4.0 support will be announced later this year.
