Mojang Studios announced in a recent Microsoft blog post that Minecraft has sold over 200 million copies to date with 126 million active monthly players! This is quite the feat, especially after the game was originally released in May 2009 as a Java applet on an online forum!
11 years later the game is still one of the world’s most popular games and it was actually the most-watched game on YouTube in 2019! It is available on pretty much any device out there and is constantly updated.
