OneXplayer 2 Pro Announced Featuring AMD Ryzen 7 7840U APU, 8.4″ 1600p Screen And Detachable Controllers

OneNetbook, the company responsible for the OneXplayer brand, has been generating numerous rumors and teasers regarding their upcoming handheld gaming product. While it was widely known that the console would incorporate AMD’s latest Ryzen 7000 APU, official confirmation has only been received recently.

During a recent event held in China, the company unveiled its latest console, the OneXplayer 2 Pro. What sets this product apart from other consoles, including those based on AMD Ryzen 7 7840U (Zen4/RDNA3), are its unique features. For instance, it boasts an impressive 8.4-inch screen with a resolution of 2560×1600. This resolution is double that of the Steam Deck and even surpasses the upcoming ASUS ROG Ally, which has a resolution of 1080p.

In addition, the OneXplayer 2 Pro will include detachable controllers, similar to the Nintendo Switch. However, this is not a novel feature for the OneXplayer line, as previous-generation models with Ryzen 7 6800U or Intel Core i7 1370P processors already offered this functionality. Users have the flexibility to transform their console into a fully functional laptop by removing the controllers and replacing them with a keyboard.

The company has officially confirmed that their console will provide a maximum of 64GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 4TB of PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe storage. These options represent the highest capacities available, but the device will also be available with smaller capacities at a lower price point.

Regrettably, the company has not provided any information regarding the launch price or availability of the OneXplayer 2 Pro. With the upcoming release of the ROG Ally on June 13th, other handheld console manufacturers may find it challenging to persuade gamers to pay a premium for their features. AOKZOE, for instance, modified their specifications to offer 32 GB as the default storage capacity instead of 16 GB, aiming to justify the $999 launch price.

Thus far, OneXplayer has only presented a special edition of their product called the OneXplayer 2 Pro Eva Limited Edition, which comes in a vibrant purple color.
