In a Twitter post, benson60843125 claims to have discovered a roadmap that details the dates and lifespans of Ryzen series products for the years 2022 and 2023. By the end of 2023, the Ryzen Threadripper 5000 will no longer be supported, although a replacement has not yet been specified. However, reports say that the next-generation Threadripper will be called “Storm Peak.”
According to AMD’s plans, the Ryzen 5000 series will remain available alongside the Ryzen 7000 series both this year and in 2023. The standard desktop platform will be updated to provide 3D V-Cache (X3D) variations, which are currently classified as TBA (to be announced). Since yesterday was the official launch of the Ryzen 7000 series, it’s safe to assume that the roadmap is also relatively recent.
Additionally, AMD’s Ryzen G-Series should get an upgrade in the coming year, perhaps in the form of the Ryzen 7000G series. We can only anticipate a new block commencing in the second part of the year, indicating that 5000G will be replaced by then. However, it seems that AMD still intends to maintain certain 4000/5000G series; therefore, it is apparent that AMD is not yet saying goodbye to the AM4 socket.
