We’ve been following the drama and backlash over Metro Exodus going exclusive (for 1 year) on the Epic Games store and moving away from the Steam platform. This whole decision seemed to be very last minute as many retailers offered pre-orders with Steam keys up until the announcement was made to go exclusive to the Epic Games store.
It seems the speculation of it being a last-minute decision seems to be true as the physical copies of the game simply have a sticker covering the Steam logo. This whole debacle really shows the power of the steam user-base and how many gamers do not want to use another platform.
