Upcoming Lenovo Legion Laptops Will Feature Intel 11th Gen 8-Core Tiger Lake-H45 and RTX 3080

In case you were disappointed by Intel’s latest 4 cores and 8 threads based Tiger Lake-H35 processors, then cheer up as the Tiger Lake-H45 based laptop from Lenovo is spotted. You should note that these H45 processors have a 45W TDP.

This higher TDP allows Intel to bump up the core and thread count to 8 cores and 16 threads, thus making Tiger Lake-H45 the proper successor to the Comet Lake-H series. Intel confirmation of processors having boost speeds of up to 5 GHz is only applicable to the flagship processor of the Tiger Lake-H45 series: Core i9-11900HK.

The flagship, Core i9-11900HK, was spotted in a Lenovo Legion 7 listing CompSource. The listing also mentioned other specs of the laptop, which includes: 16-inch QHD display along with a 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU will be used. The CompSource might have eyeballed the price as the Lenovo Legion 7 is listed for $950.20, but the laptop might be twice the listed price.

Besides the listing, some references have appeared for the Core i5-11400H (6 cores/12 threads) and the Core i7-11800H (8 cores/12 threads) too. All processors under the Tiger Lake-H45 series will support 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes, native Thunderbolt 4, and integrated Wi-Fi 6E.

The Tiger Lake-H45 appears to be a great processor lineup, and it will be interesting to see the competition it will bring to AMD’s Zen 3-based Ryzen 5000 processors.
