What You Need to Know About the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C

As expected earlier today Apple announced not just one, but two new iPhone models. This is the first time they have ever done such a thing. The two new models are the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. The iPhone 5C is the lower cost “poor man’s” iPhone and the iPhone 5S is the true successor to the current iPhone 5. The iPhone 5S will become the new flagship iPhone, but should you get that or the iPhone 5C? Read on as we go over all of the features of both phones so you can make the decision on what phone is best for you.

The iPhone 5C
Let’s start things off the with iPhone 5C. The big thing with the 5C is that it is available in 5 different colors (green, blue, yellow, red and white), much like we have seen with iPod in the past.

The casing of the iPhone 5C is made of polycarbonate shell which is completely seamless with no part line or joints. So yes, it is plastic. The polycarbonate does have a steel reinforced frame. Apple says the iPhone 5C has a very dense feel for a plastic product.

When it comes down to specs the iPhone 5C is powered by the same A6 chip that was in the iPhone 5. You have a 4-inch retina display, 8 megapixel iSight camera, 720p HD FaceTime camera, 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. The iPhone 5C will also ship with iOS 7 installed. So it is basically like the iPhone 5, with color and a couple of other things added.
