ADATA XPG SX8200 480GB M.2 NVMe Solid State Drive Review

ADATA XPG SX8200 Overview
The ADATA XPG SX8200 is your typical M.2 solid state drive in the 80 mm form factor, which seems pretty standard for most drives these days. We have a black PCB and on the main side of the drive you’ll see four chips.

Starting with the two ADATA-labeled chips they are Micron’s 64-layer TLC (Triple Level Cell) 256Gbit 3D NAND flash chips. In between these two chips and the controller is a Nanya DRAM chip.

Finally we have the controller which is the Silicon Motion SM2262. The controller supports eight NAND channels, NVMe 1.3, best-in-class low power, and LDPC error correction, which will extend the endurance of the NAND.

Flipping the drive over there is a sticker giving us all of the information on our drive. While it is covering up most of the chips on this side we know know we have another Nanya DRAM chip and two more Micron 3D NAND chips. Also be sure to not remove this sticker as it will void your warranty!
