Overclocking
Overclocking memory is relatively easy on the Haswell platform. This memory kit by default is set at 2400 MHz with timings of 11-13-13-35. Our first overclock was easily done by simply changing the memory speed from 2400 MHz to 2600 MHz and loosening the timings to 11-14-14-36.
The memory passed our stability test so we decided to go higher. Up next was 2666 MHz. Here we had to boost the voltage up a bit to 1.68V. The timings we kept the same at 11-14-14-36.
Again this passed out stability test so now we were on to 2800 MHz. This was a little harder to achieve, but we were able to get the memory stable with timings of 12-16-16-36 at a voltage of 1.7V.
We stopped our overclocking there as we did not want to go over 1.7V. A 400 MHz overclock is pretty good at memory that is already running by default at 2400 MHz!
