One really cool thing about the Fury X that was briefly shown towards the end of the presentation was the live LED tachometer that is on the side of the card. From what we understand that can be configured to show GPU load as well as temperature. Very cool and something that was not mentioned about the card before.

The Radeon R9 Fury X will be available for purchase June 24th for $649 and the Radeon R9 Fury will be available a little later on July 14th for $549.

  1. If the Fury series are just re-brands of the previous R9 290/ 290X series, why would I want to spend $649+ US for one of these GPU’s – just for the HBM memory modules, the smaller footprint?
I just got an R9 290X a couple of months ago; so I think I’ll be taking a pass on this series, and will wait for the next production.
