Included with the APC NetBotz 250 Rack Monitor is a wireless sensor starter kit, including a Zigbee wireless network co-ordinator and wireless temperature sensor, in addition a wired temp / humidity sensor. Installation
You can install the Rack Monitor 250 in the front or rear of the rack using the rack-mount option, which requires 1U of rack space. A notched hole or a number on the vertical rail of the rack denotes the middle of a U-space.
If you are using an APC by Schneider Electric VX or SX rack you can use the toolless peg-mounts which does use any U-space.
APC by Schneider Electric offers a cage nut hardware kit for use with square holes.
APC NetBotz 250 Rack Monitor (NBRK0250) Overview
The Netbotz 250 is an active, scalable monitoring solution designed to protect against physical, environmental or human threats, that can cause disruption to IT assets. The immediate detection of any problems minimises IT downtime by preventing an outage or by enabling a rapid response by staff. Problems are solved before they become catastrophic and result in disruption for IT users.
The appliance protects your computing equipment from physical threats such as high temperature, humidity, water damage as well as malicious and unintentional access events. This rapidly deployable device supports Netbotz wireless sensors.
The APC NetBotz 250 can be mounted in a rack alongside your other IT equipment or zero-U mounted in the rear of a cabinet. The appliance has six on-board sensor ports for NetBotz wired sensors, including temperature, temp/humidity, smoke and spot fluid sensors as well as third party sensors via a dry contact cable. Additional ports include a beacon, voltage output, relay output and Modbus connections for monitoring over Modbus RTU or TCP.
The Rack Monitor 250 has unique software that is not compatible with other Netbotz products. However, thresholds, alerts and notifications are configured via the web UI or via StruxureWare Data Center Expert. The Data Center Expert integration is especially valuable when you need to manage multiple APC NetBotz appliances in bulk. For environments that do not require surveillance the NetBotz 250 is the most affordable solution to protect IT equipment from physical threats.
The APC Rack Access Control Solution builds on the NBRK0250 appliance. Two handles and two door contacts simply plug into dedicated ports on the NetBotz 250 appliance, while preserving the NB250 functionality in environmental monitoring. Two handle kits are available at 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz, so your existing building access cards can be used with the NetBotz access control.
You can receive real time notifications, so if something is wrong with your NetBotz rack monitor network, you can be notified straight away as to be able to quickly resolve the problem. Data Center Expert also distributes alerts, alarms and notifications thus enabling you to view and protect your physical data centre infrastructure.
