AZIO Cascade Slim Mechanical Keyboard Review

Setup

Getting the Cascade Slim setup is pretty easy. If you plan to use it as a wired keyboard all you have to do is plug it into your PC using the included USB cable and move the slider over to USB. The keyboard will be detected automatically and you’ll be good to go.

For Bluetooth be sure you have the keyboard charged (can be done via USB) and then turn the slider on the top-edge of the keyboard to BT. From there hold FN+1 to select the first Bluetooth connection. Once the 1 button is flashing blue go into your Bluetooth settings on your device and you should see “CASCADE_V1.0” listed under available devices. Select it and your device will now be paired with the keyboard. You can connect up to three devices to the keyboard (buttons 1,2,3).

Lighting

The keyboard does feature RGB backlighting. Overall it looks pretty good, but since the keys are one low-profile, and two pretty close together the lighting isn’t going to be anything amazing.

Since there is no software for this keyboard you can use FN + END to cycle through the different RGB effects, FN + Arrow Left or Arrow Right to cycle through the colors, FN + Arrow up or Arrow down to adjust brightness, and FN + Page Up or Page Down to cycle through the desired effects speed.
