Typically when it comes to electronics we always know that the cost of making the product is far less than what we the consumer pays. It has been reported that Dr. Dre’s Beats by Dre headphones cost only $14 to make! These are the same headphones that sell for around $379 for the higher-end models!
Many people have always wondered if they were just paying for the name when it came to the Beats by Dre headphones. Last month TIME magazine ranked Beats by Dre as the second worst headphone brand out in terms of sound performance.
While the quality of the headphones may be under question the brand is a marketing juggernaut. The company owns 27% of the headphone industry and pulled in over $1.8 billion in sales last year.

i have said this ever since these junk headphones came out. you are paying ENTIRELY for the name brand. listen to the once and you will realize this. the sound is terrible. the best headphones, and products for that matter, are not those that are advertised on TV or plastered on every ad-space online, but are those spread by word of mouth. if you want a nice set of headphones go to an actual music store – a place that sells instruments and other recording equipment. ask the employees what they use. do your own research
We ALL know that the majority of people that these are marketed to are not those that care about the quality of music that these headphones produce but merely the way one looks while wearing them.
