Lexar has really impressed us over this past year with their storage and memory products so we were excited to see what all they had to offer at CES 2024! They had a full range of new products from internal storage, external storage, and some of the fastest DDR5 available! We will walk you through all of their new products for 2024!
Lexar ARES RGB DDR5
On the DDR5 side of things Lexar has some updates for their ARES RGB DDR5 memory. This memory has been out for a while as we’ve already taken a look at the 6000 MHz kit, but Lexar will be expanding the range to 8400 MHz and 8000 MHz frequencies. They will also be updating the heatspreader design to something that looks a bit more sleek in my opinion.
Lexar Professional NM1090
Lexar will be jumping into the Gen5 NVMe SSD game with their Professional NM1090. This drive will be based on the Phison E26 controller and will offer read speeds up to 12,000 MB/s and write speeds up to 11,000 MB/s. The drive has a pretty beefy heatsink that features active cooling by way of an ARGB fan. To start Lexar will offer this drive in 4TB, 2TB, and 1TB capacities.
Lexar Professional NM800 Pro
The Lexar Professional NM800 Pro is not really a new drive, we reviewed it back in November of 2022, but the update we are seeing is that Lexar will now offer it in an 8TB capacity.
Lexar PLAY 2230
The Lexar PLAY 2230 is one of the smallest drives that we saw at the Lexar booth. It is a PCI-Express 4.0 M.2 2230 (30mm) drive that is really made for devices like the Steam Deck and ROG Ally. It will offer read and write speeds of 5200 MB/s and 4700 MB/s respectively.
Lexar Professional SL600 Portable SSD
Lexar is bringing many products over to their Professional series and that starts with the Professional SL600 Portable SSD. This drive has pretty much the identical design of the Lexar SL660 Blaze, but it will not have the RGB lighting or display stand. It is a USB 3.2 gen 2×2 drive so you are going to see speeds of 2000 MB/s across the board. Capacities that will be offered will be 4TB, 2TB, and 1TB.
Lexar ARMOR 700 Portable SSD
Lexar’s more rugged portable solid state drive for 2024 is going to be the ARMOR 700. This drive has a sort of rubberized outer shell that gives it that rugged durability. It is drop resistant and IP65 rated. Being a USB 3.2 gen 2×2 drive you will see speeds of up to 2000 MB/s and the drive will be offered in 4TB, 2TB, and 1TB capacities.
Lexar SL500 Portable SSD
The SL500 will be one of the thinnest portable solid state drives out there! It will easily fit in your pocket and not take up a lot of space. This is a USB 3.2 gen 2×2 drive with read and write speeds of 2000 MB/s and 1800 MB/s respectively. You’ll be able to pick this drive up in 4TB, 2TB, and 1TB capacities.
