Looking to build a new system with Gigabyte’s AORUS Extreme Waterforce motherboard? Well Gigabyte wants to do some of the hard work for you. In their latest move they will be bundling their AORUS Extreme Waterforce (their most expensive motherboard), with cherry-picked Intel Core i9-9900K processors.
Not only will Gigabyte be bundling these two part together, but each board will be configured to run the chip completely stable at 5.1 GHz across all eight cores. Each combo has been configured and stress-tested by Gigabyte engineers and is guaranteed to work at the 5.1 GHz frequency.
From the Gigabyte press release:
“The BIOS has also been pretuned so that users won’t have to configure the settings to avoid complications and confusion for hitting all cores at 5.1GHz and higher while overclocking. Additionally, GIGABYTE engineers have already stress tested these motherboards at higher loads compared to that of standard configurations to ensure the reliability of these boards so that users can enjoy extreme performance with all cores at 5.1GHz or higher and excellent stability.”
Gigabyte has confirmed that the bundle should have a ~$1599 MSRP, which is not all that bad if you think about it. The AORUS Extreme Waterforce is $999 by itself and according to Silicon Lottery a i9-9900K that is guaranteed to work at 5.1 GHz goes for $939.
