DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 Overview
The drive itself has a very sleek design. It has a solid metal matte casing that looks great. On the top of the drive are DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 and Kingston logos. Also it does list the capacity right on the drive. The metal casing not only looks cool but adds some weight to the device, which I actually prefer.
The DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 is designed to be retractable so if you press the front part back it will reveal the USB 3.0 connection. Since this is a USB 3.0 drive you are going to get some pretty fast speeds. Kingston says this drive will achieve read speeds of up to 150 MB/s and write speeds up to 70 MB/s when connected via USB 3.0. The drive is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 as well. When you are using USB 3.0 you will see read speeds of up to 30 MB/s and write speeds up to 20 MB/s.
When the DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 is not in use the USB connection is hidden and recessed into the drive. This protects the connection and makes it so you don’t have to have a cap, that you will most likely eventually misplace. There is a pretty large key fob connected to the drive which will allow you to easily connect it to a lanyard or keychain.
