Kingston HyperX FURY DDR4-2666 16GB Memory Kit Review

Overclocking
Overclocking on the Intel Z170 platform is pretty easy. The easiest way to overclock would be up simply change the frequency divider in the BIOS. To achieve the best overclock we try to stay with the timings that the XMP profile recommends, but we will loosen or tighten timings to get the best overclock possible.

This kit has a normal speed of 2666 MHz so I moved the frequency divider up to 2800 MHz keeping the same timings and voltage as the XMP profile. The kit made the jump no problem and passed our stability test.

The next move up was the 3000 MHz. Initially our system would not boot at this frequency, but I bumped the voltage from 1.2V up to 1.35V and our system booted up easily using the same timings as the XMP profile.

I tried 3100 MHz, but our system did not want to boot at all so that stopped our overclocking at 3000 MHz. A 334 MHz overclock is not bad at all though!
