We all have one. Or two. Or 17. Flash drives that is. And no matter how many we have, there always seems like there is a need for more. Thankfully Patriot has a lineup of new drives to satisfy our needs. There are two drives we saw at CES 2019 that we would like to give a quick overview of, and they sit at totally opposite sides of the performance spectrum, but each serves its own purpose.
Positioned at the low level of performance spectrum, the Cliq is available in capacities between 32GB and 128GB, so it should cover nearly every general use application with ease. The Cliq is a USB 3.1 G1 drive, but also supports USB 3.0 and 2.0. What makes the Cliq so nice is that it has a retractable design that makes taking it on the go a snap. The springed design lets you click the USB tab out of the body for use, while a small tab on the side of the drive retracts the connection when depressed.
Sitting on the far opposite side of the performance spectrum is the Viper Fang, a USB 3.1 Gen 1 drive, with read speeds of up to 400MB/s. Available in sizes between 128GB and 512GB, the Fang offers fast performance and large capacities. Priced between $44.99 and 154.99, the Fang should be available sometime in late January.
