Now Available to a Wider Audience

CES 2019 saw the introduction of a good number of gaming laptops, proving itself to be the venue where the best of the best go head-to-head, something we all enjoy as gamers.

The show had Intel AMD and Nvidia all announcing their very latest in graphics cards and processors geared for laptops. Also, we saw many gaming brands which have updated their notebooks so they will support the latest generation of new technology.

Having plenty of choice is always welcomed and whether you are looking for that super-thin, light, take anywhere and game, or you have been searching for a new form factor then CES 2019 provided both and a lot more.

Although CES 2019 was jam-packed with announcements about new graphics cards and processors there was only one present in any laptops at the show itself, and that was the Nvidia RTX 20-series mobile GPUs which was launched together with 40 entries from laptop brands which include names we have come to trust like Alienware, Razer, MSI, Omen, ROG, and Predator.

Showing off the company’s ware before a packed crowd at the MGM Grand Conference Centre, Jensen Huang presented to his audience the GeForce RTX 2060 the new, lower priced graphics card (costing $349 or £270, AU$490).

The chip went on sale on January 15th and there are two more powerful chips the RTX 2070 and the RTX 2080 which are both more expensive at $599 and $799 respectfully.

The 40 new laptops in over a hundred configurations will be powered by versions of the 2060, 2070, and 2080 suitable for laptops will be available on January 29th.

Huang is quoted as saying ‘I think we have redefined mobile gaming.’

The new RTX cards are aimed at helping Nvidia add its newest graphics cards to devices that do not cost as much and hence to a broader audience which should help the company support its gaming business, its primary source of sales.

This is perfect news for those gamers that cannot afford a top of the line gaming machine, as there are so many players that enjoy great graphics but simply cannot afford the dearer machines, not only for regular gaming but also for games that you find at legal NZ online casinos.

For instance, take the slot game Planet of the Apes. The movie themed slots game includes authentic video clips, sound bites and includes characters from the successful movie. Games like these really do benefit from superior graphics and machine.

The live games that are offered at an online casino, those games that take place in real time from a real bricks and mortar venue and with a real human dealer or croupier would obviously benefit from a machine that has one of the new graphics chip included.

It really is about time that a better graphics chip was incorporated into less expensive machines which will allow more gamers to enjoy their games, no matter what they are, and it’s a great move from Nvidia which is sure to be a success.
