NVIDIA has made the GeForce GTX 1660 Super official. The card is basically a GTX 1660 with 6GB of newer 14 Gbps GDDR6 memory. Besides that the specifications are identical to the GTX 1660, so you have 1,408 CUDA cores, 88 TMUs, and 48 ROPs. Clock speeds remain the same as well with a 1530 MHz core and 1750 MHz GPU Boost.
The 14 Gbps GDDR6 memory is actually faster than what the GTX 1660 Ti has, but since the GTX 1660 Ti has 1,536 CUDA cores the GTX 1660 Super will still slot in below it in the product stack and performance of the Ti version should be better. The GTX 1660 Super will be price at just $10 more than the GTX 1660 at $229. It is expected that this launch is to preempt AMD’s Radeon RX 5500 series. The launch today is completely partner-driven so you won’t see any Founder’s Edition models.
