NVIDIA Stops Production of RTX 4070 Ti & RTX 4080 To Focus on SUPER Variants

According to Board Channels, it looks like NVIDIA has announced that it will be discontinuing two of their current graphics cards. These two cards are the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti and GeForce RTX 4080. This move will allow the market to purchase existing inventories of these two cards and create room within the channel for the upcoming RTX 40 SUPER series graphics cards which are expected to be announced at CES 2024 in January.

Board Channels says that NVIDIA has stopped mass production of these two models and has also shipped its last orders for Q4-2023. This would make us think that board partners are placing orders for new cards, which would be the RTX 4080 SUPER and RTX 4070 TI SUPER.

It is worth noting that while this report says “discontinuation” this might just be a miscommunication between discontinuing the products and stopping mass production. Stopping mass production would allow NVIDIA to shift its production and inventory to new upcoming models. NVIDIA has also in the past stopped mass production of certain models, only to start it up again.

So at least until we hear something official from NVIDIA it wouldn’t say this is the end of these cards.
