Testing
We will be testing the Patriot Viper 3 memory at its rated 2400 MHz and at our two overclocks of 2600 MHz and 2400 MHz.

Our first test is the Cache & Memory benchmark that is built into AIDA64.

Next up is SiSoftware’s Sandra 2012 software. It has 3 memory benchmarks, Memory Bandwidth, Memory Latency, and Cache & Memory Latency.

sandra lat

sandra cache

Finally we have MaxxMem2, which is much like the AIDA64’s Cache & Memory benchmark.

  1. Patriot has changed up the ICs they’re using on this kit. I got one a few months back which had only eight Hynix 4Gbit MFR chips per stick (single sided). I got another this week which was like the one you reviewed, 16 chips per stick (double-sided) using Hynix 2Gbit DFR, a relatively new IC with unknown overclocking capability.
