Phison PS5028-E28 Reference Design Testing – Temperatures

When it comes to temperature testing in our new test system for solid state drives we will be making use of the top slot in the ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Hero motherboard, which does have a pretty beefy heatsink. There is no active air flowing over the drive during this test.

For our test we run the AIDA64 linear write test and record the temperature when it is about 70% completed. As you can see when we took the reading the drive was at 67C with a max temperature reading during the test being 72C. These results show us that this drive runs much cooler than previous Gen5 drives and uses less power.
