EA Loses $3 Billion In Stock Value After Battlefront II Drama

Over this past week Electronic Arts (EA) has lost $3.1 billion in stock value. This comes after completely removing micro-transactions from the recently released Star Wars Battlefront II. That decision of course came after gamers complained of terrible pricing of the base-game, DLC, and a very aggressive loot-crate system.

The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine DLC Release Date Leaked

The first two expansions for The Witcher 3 were released last fall, they included Wild Hunt and Hearts of Stone. This left fans wanting more and they have been eagerly awaiting the Blood and Wine expansion. While CD Projekt Red to studio behind the game has yet to officially announce anything it this leak is believed to be true Blood and Wine will be released June 7th.

EA Makes More Than Double From Extra Content Than Full Games

Most major publishers these days (EA, Activision, Ubisoft) have implemented a massive array of micro-transactions into their full-priced games. Although many people consider EA the king of this other publishers do it as well. Micro-transactions have been hit with a lot of criticism from gamers, but taking a look at the latest financial stats from EA we can see why many of these publishers have not changed their stance on these micro-transactions.

It seems like we might be able to get our hands on some details regarding the Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC since Infinity Ward has unintentionally leaked a few bits. Maps which form part of the downloadable content of this game have also been leaked in these details. The most surprising is the visibility of the internal dev playlist to the public (the players) and this comes as a bit of a surprise.
