Fortnite Reportedly Tops $1 Billion in Revenue

A new report from analyst firm Superdata has given us some insight into the craze of Battle Royale games. Epic's Fornite is now estimated to have earned more the $1 billion in revenue since it launched last year. And from the looks of it, it does not seem to be slowing down. In May alone the game made $304 million on in-game microtransactions, all of which we remind you are cosmetic. This is a 4% increase over the $296 million figure in April. Since introducing the Battle Royale game mode in September of last year profits have skyrocketed, just revenue from May and April account for more than half of the $1 billion being reported.

Valve Will Be At Gamescom 2018

Gamescom is one of the biggest events for game developers besides E3 and this years event will be talking place August 21st in Cologne, Germany. An interesting development surrounding Gamescom has occurred, Valve has confirmed they will be at the show exhibiting and showing off a new game.

Valve Disables CS:GO Lootboxes in Belgium & Netherlands

In the latest patch to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players from Belgium and the Netherlands are being prevented from even being able to open loot boxes in the game. Valve has made this decision due to the Netherlands legal statues regarding gambling. Valve is also working to comply with the Dutch Gaming Authority. So players in the Netherlands and Belgium "will be restricted from opening containers" following the latest patch.

HTC Announces the VIVE Pro Full Kit – Steam VR 2.0 Base Stations, Pro Controllers Included

The HTC VIVE Pro Full Kit is one for the enthusiast, with the full bundle launching with the updated Steam VR 2.0 compatible base stations for a total play area of an incredible 10m x 10m, over three times that of the original. Also included in the Full Kit is a new set of pro controllers in the iconic blue colour. The VIVE Pro headset itself features a resolution of 2880 x 1600 (an increase of 78% over the original), with a built-in deluxe audio strap and slimlined cable management.

Official PC Requirements Revealed For Battlefield V Closed Alpha

Since the Battlefield V Closed Alpha is going on, EA has revealed the official system requirements for PC users. EA did however emphasize that these requirements are only for the Closed Alpha and my vary in the final game. According to the Battlefield V website, the minimum system requirements include a Core i5-6600K or AMD FX-8350 processor, 8GB of memory, and either a GTX 1050 / GTX 600 or a Radeon HD 7850 graphics card.

Blizzard Job Openings Point To Diablo 4

If you head on over to the Blizzard Job Openings page you'll see that they are hiring no less than eleven full-time positions to work on a new unannounced Diablo game. Looking at the listing, which includes a Creative Director and Executive Producer it looks like this will be an entirely new game, not a Diablo II remaster.
