Graphics Industry Leaders Mike Rayfield and David Wang Join AMD

AMD today announced the appointment of Mike Rayfield as senior vice president and general manager of AMD Radeon Technologies Group (RTG), and David Wang as senior vice president of engineering for RTG. Both will report to President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su.

Raja Koduri Leaves AMD

Well the headline says it all, when we initially reported that AMD Radeon Technologies Group’s SVP and Chief Architect Raja Koduri was taking a sabbatical from the company back in September it was speculated that he would be leaving the company. Well it turns out this was true, Raja is leaving AMD for good.

AMD Radeon Technologies Group’s Raja Koduri Takes Sabbatical

In a bit of non-hardware news, AMD Radeon Technologies Group's SVP and Chief Architect Raja Koduri has announced that he will be taking a multi-month sabbatical to "spend time with my family". Nobody can deny that AMD's CPU and GPU teams have been in high-gear for the last year or more, releasing an almost never-ending stream of products since Ryzen CPUs launched in March.

AMD Announces “Capsaicin” Live Webcast at GDC

AMD has announced that they will hold a live webcast during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. This developer and press event, entitled "Capsaicin," will be hosted by Radeon Technologies Group's Senior Vice President and Chief Architect Raja Koduri on Monday, March 14 at 4:00 PM PT (6:00 PM CT/7:00 PM ET), and will showcase AMD's world-class hardware, software and gaming partners.

AMD Working On Two Polaris GPUs

In a recent interview with Venture Beat AMD Radeon Technologies Group (RTG) head Raja Koduri confirmed that the company is currently working on two 14 nm FinFET GPUs that are based on the "Polaris" architecture. He referred to the two chips as "Polaris 10" and "Polaris 11" and said that both chips are "extremely power efficient".
