Zotac GeForce RTX 2080 AMP Extreme Graphics Card Overview
Taking a first look at the card we can see that with the RTX generation of card we have a new shroud design. All of Zotac’s RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti AMP Extreme cards will feature this shroud design. The main highlight of the shroud is the white diffused sections, which will light up with RGB lighting when you have your system powered on.
The card is cooled off by three 90 mm cooling fans, which sit on top of two large heatsink stacks. These two heatsink stacks are connected by five large heatpipes. On each fan is a Zotac Gaming logo.
Taking a look at the sides of the card on the main side which will show when you have the card installed you have “Zotac Gaming” text, which will light up, two 8-pin PCIe power connections, and your NVLink connection. There is not much on on the other side except for your PCI-Express connection.
Flipping the card over to the back we have a full-cover metal backplate, which has the Zotac Gaming logo on it and the words “Live to Game”. I am a little disappointed to not see any lighting back here though.
Finally we come to our connections and the first thing we notice is that while the card has a 2-slot I/O cover it actually will take up three slots. For display connectivity you have three DisplayPort 1.4a, one HDMI 2.0b, and a VirtualLink connector.
Zotac has really made this card their own. The PCB design is completely custom with a 16-phase VRM, which is double than what comes on the Founders Edition of the card, hell the Founders Edition RTX 2080 Ti only has 13 phases. The VRM for the memory has also been upgraded as well with 4 phases.
