MSI Unveils the M.2 Shield an SSD Cooling Feature For New Motherboards

MSI has just unveiled their M.2 Shield. This new feature will appear on their next-generation (Z270) socket LGA1151 motherboards. The M.2 shield is an aluminum heatspreader that acts as a full-length cover over your motherboards M.2-2280 slots. It is hinged right by the M.2 connector. On the inside the cover has a non-conductive thermal pad which lets it make contact with your M.2 SSDs controller and NAND chips and transferring heat to the heatspreader.

Intel “Kaby Lake” Core i7-7700K Sample Benchmarked

It looks like the guys over at Tom's hardware have got their hands on Intel's new "Kaby Lake" Core i7-7700K. Their sample was not marked as an engineering sample, but they cannot confirm that it is indeed a retail part. They've taken the chip through a series of benchmarks at both stock and overclocked settings. Since retail Z270 motherboards are not available yet they did their testing on a Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Ultra Gaming with updated firmware.

AMD’s Socket AM4 “Bristol Ridge” APU De-lidded

At their Colorful CGU (Colorful Games Union) event, Colorful has unveiled their iGame GTX 1080 KUDAN graphics card. This is a monstrous 4-slot graphics card! It has a very interesting hybrid cooling design. It has a triple-slot, triple-fan / aluminum heatsink array that sits on top of the GPU. On the bottom of the card there is a watercooling-powered backplate, that can be used in conjunction with the card's own air cooling or your custom water-loop.
