ADATA Premier SP610 256GB Solid State Drive Review

Final Thoughts
ADATA has done a great job on the Premier SP610 solid state drive. It comes in at a very good price and has some great performance as well.

The Silicon Motion SM2246EN has proved to be a good controller as we saw on the Crucial BX100 and the Mushkin Reactor. In ADATA’s Premier SP610 we saw scores of 557 MB/s read and 300 MB/s write. Which are not bad at all, certainly better than a typical mechanical hard drive. While this 256 GB drive is rated for 290 MB/s write as you move up in capacity to the 512 GB version you get a write speed of 450 MB/s, which is the max speed for the drive.

This drive does come with some extras as well. You get a free copy of Acronis True Image HD, which can easily help you clone your current hard drive. You also do get the 7.5mm to 9mm adapter, which many SSD manufacturers seem to be leaving out these days. The drive comes with a 3-year warranty as well, which should put your mind at ease too.

At a price of $84.99 for the 256 GB version, that makes it a very inexpensive hard drive you can use for an OS or game drive, which will be much faster than a mechanical hard drive.

Overall ThinkComputers gives the ADATA Premier SP610 solid state drive a 9 out of 10 score.
