Alienvibes EP02 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones Review

Final Thoughts
When Alienvibes first asked me to review the EP02 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones I thought to myself, “Well they do look good, but it will be interesting to see how they actually sound”. You have to remember that this is the first headset from Alienvibes so with all first releases there are problems. But after using the EP02’s I definitely have to say that Alienvibes took their time developing these headphones.

Being that these are active noise cancellation headphones that is one of the most important things. Even when I first put the headphones out I was surprised how well they isolated everything. These headphones will definitely make you forget you are on a plane, have someone watching TV in the same room or even that you have construction going on in the next room over. This isolation allows you to really immerse yourself in your music, which makes for a better listening experience. The 40mm drivers provide crisp clear sound and you may actually notice things in songs you’ve never heard before. Also if you listen to music with a lot of bass you will really like how the EP02’s sound. Bass reproduction is great and does not distort really at all.

When it comes to comfort I was also surprised that I could use this headset for hours on end without having to take it off. The cushion on the headband and the ear cushions are extremely comfortable. The earcups are breathable as well so your ears will not sweat after a long listening session. The earcups fit me pretty well, but people with larger ears may have liked the earcups to be a little bit larger.

Although not incredibly important the EP02’s look great! The glossy finish and Alienvibes logos just look awesome. If you are wearing this headset you are definitely going to get some attention. Alienvibes also offers this headset in 7 colors. I really like that Alienvibes did include a hard shell carrying case as well.

The only real issue I have with this headset is that both the mute button and microphone activate button need to be held down to use. This can just get annoying. I would rather have them be pressed in once to activate, then pressed in again to deactivate.

The EP02’s are around $111 at my favorite online retailer, which is a great price for this product. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Alienvibes EP02 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones a 9 out of 10 score.
