AMD Could Cut Prices on 2nd Gen Ryzen Processors

It looks like AMD’s first response to Intel’s 9th generation Core processors could be 5-10% price-cuts across their 2nd generation Ryzen lineup. According to a price list compiled by Techspot these cuts will see the Ryzen 7 2700X below the $300 mark!

The $200-$300 processors segment could get very crowded, as we have the 8-core, 16-thread 2700X at $295, then the Ryzen 7 2700 (non-X) at $265, and the 6-core, 12-thread Ryzen 5 2600X to drop to around $210. The Intel’s 9th generation the only sub-$300 chip will be the 6-core, 6-thread Core i5-9600K.

In the sub-$200 segment we have the very attractive 6-core, 12-thread Ryzen 5 2600 at $160. Intel’s cheapest 6-core offering is the i5-8400, which retails for $220. Intel’s closest offering price-wise is the quad-core i3-8350K at $170.
