Final Thoughts on the ASRock X870 Taichi Creator Motherboard
As we come to the end here we see ASRock with a very solid motherboard if you are a creator and maybe an even more compelling motherboard if you are someone who is getting into AI and want to run LLMs on your own system.
For creator there is quite a lot here. First you have support and proper spacing for multiple expansion cards so if you are using multiple cards for streaming or even rendering you are covered here. Want to move your data or content off to a NAS? You have dual Ethernet here, with both a 10G and 5G connection. Need to throw your content on a portable drive? You have both USB4 and USB 3.2 gen 2×2 connectivity. In total there are actually 25 USB ports (rear / front) as well as four M.2 slots.
Having support for two full-size graphics cards is actually quite rare on a non-workstation motherboard. That is what makes this motherboard really appealing for AI, as dual graphics cards are really preferred for AI workloads. And again, you have proper spacing for these cards, and each of those slots is metal reinforced.
I really didn’t run into any issues when it came to testing this board and the 18+2+1 power design will be able to handle your high-end Ryzen processors. These power delivery components are covered by two large heatsinks and I did not have any issues with VRM temperatures.
Now while you do get WiFi 7 connectivity, it is only 160 MHz, not the full 320 MHz bandwidth.
Right now this motherboard is selling at my favorite online retailer for $319.99, which is an exceptional value for what all you are getting here. Overall ThinkComputers gives the ASRock X870 Taichi Creator Motherboard a 9 out of 10 score.
