ASUS BW-12B1LT Blu-Ray Burner Internal Drive Review

Conclusion
This is my first optical drive review, so it’s really hard to compare this drive to any others. The optical drive has a sleek design, like many ASUS products, which may or may not be a nice benefit for some. The does support 3D Blu-ray, which is nice if you hook it up to your TV, otherwise it’s pretty much useless since there aren’t many 3D monitors out there.

The drive does what it’s supposed to do, so I have no complaints about it. The only thing about this drive is that it’s a little more expensive than other Blu-ray burners on the market. The cheapest I could find this drive online was about $130, with higher prices ranging up to $180.

This would be a nice drive for an HTPC that you would be hooking up to your home theatre, rather than going out and purchasing a 3D Blu-ray player. Overall it’s a nice, higher end Blu-Ray burner drive. ThinkComputers would like to award the ASUS BW-12B1LT Blu-Ray Burner Internal Drive a 9 out of 10 score.
