ASUS Teasing 20th Anniversary ROG Matrix GTX 980 Gold Edition

ASUS has put up a little teaser on their Facebook page showing off an outline of a brand new graphics card. This card will be the 20th Anniversary ROG Matrix GTX 980 Gold Edition. In the teaser they are asking everyone to guess the core clock.

After asking how fast the core clock would be they also say this:

Stock GTX 980: 1126MHz
Matrix Platinum GTX 980: 1342MHz
20th Anniversary Edition GTX 980: ?

So we are assuming this card is going to be faster than their Matrix Platinum GTX 980 that runs at 1342 MHz. We know that most GTX 980’s have to problem running at 1.4-1.45 GHz on air so hopefully we will see ASUS hit that mark with a nice factory overclock. Looking at the outline of the card it is easy to see that this card will be based off the same design as the ROG Matrix Platinum. Since it is the Gold Edition it is safe to say ASUS will replace the red accents on the card with gold.

The guys over at VideoCardz came up with the below render.

We assume this card will be announced very soon, stay tuned!
