AZIO Retro Classic Prestige Mechanical Keyboard Review

Setup & Usage

Getting the keyboard set up is extremely easy. If you plan to use the keyboard wired you just take the included USB cable and plug the keyboard into your PC or Mac. It will be automatically detected and you’ll be good to go.

For Bluetooth you’ll need to switch the keyboard into Bluetooth mode using the switch on the top-edge of the keyboard. Once the keyboard is in Bluetooth mode it should go into pairing mode automatically. If it doesn’t just hold down the FN + Bluetooth button on the number pad for 5 seconds. Once in pairing mode you’ll see the keyboard pop-up and you should be able to pair successfully. There are three Bluetooth profiles on the keyboard so you can pair the keyboard with up to three different devices.

There is no software for this keyboard, so unfortunately so cannot reprogram it. There are a handful of hot keys which are listed below…

Typing on the keyboard is a pretty good experience overall. Having the keycaps be more square really makes getting used to the keyboard a lot easier than the circular keycaps that were on previous models of the keyboard. The keycaps are pretty flat though, so initially you may hit the wrong key until you get really used to the layout of the keyboard. If you are wondering what it sounds like to type on the keyboard here is a sound test. As a reminder the version of the keyboard we have is using the Gateron G Pro 3.0 brown switches.

The keyboard does have backlighting, but it is just white.
