It looks like Bethesda will be cutting out the middle man (Steam) for their release of Fallout 76. We all know that Steam charges a fee to publishers to distribute their games, which most publishers are more than willing to pay as setting up their own digital distribution service is not an easy task. On top of that for many small publishers Steam brings their games to a larger audience.
Of course Bethesda is not some small publisher, that is why they are ditching steam for their own digital distribution service for Fallout 76. In the games FAQ, Bethesda has made it clear that Fallout 76 will only be available via Bethesda.net.
