How big is the Cooler Master V8 ACE 3DHP CPU Cooler?

As we take a first look at the V8 ACE 3DHP it is definitely on the larger side with official dimensions of 138.95 × 136.47 × 167.3 mm. Definitely keep in mind that height figure of 167.3 mm as even some of the largest PC cases out there only support coolers as tall as 165 mm. If you are wondering about weight this cooler weighs in at 1169 grams. The cooler itself is all black so you have black fans, a black top-cap, a black heatsink, and black heatpipes. Currently this is the only color that Cooler Master is offering for the cooler.

Starting at the front of the cooler we have our first fan, which is a thick 120 x 30 mm. This fan uses standard blades and operates at up to 2500 RPM, producing 89.6 CFM of airflow and 3.85 mmH₂O of static pressure to push cool air through the dense fin stack. On the opposite side of the cooler is the rear fan which features reverse-ring blades and runs at up to 2050 RPM, delivering 61 CFM and 2.0 mmH₂O to pull heated air away from the heatsink while maintaining a clean outward-facing appearance. Running the fans at different maximum speeds also helps prevent them from reinforcing the same frequencies, reducing the harmonic resonance that can occur when two identical fans operate together. Both fans use rigid liquid-crystal polymer blades to limit flex and vibration at higher speeds, along with Loop Dynamic Bearings for smooth operation and long-term durability.

Both fans are attached to individual sliding rail assemblies built into the sides of the heatsink. This system allows each fan to slide completely off the cooler, providing easier access to the mounting hardware during installation without requiring you to remove traditional wire fan clips. Once the heatsink is secured, the fans simply slide back into position along their rails. The front fan can also be raised slightly to provide clearance for memory modules up to 45 mm tall, although doing so will increase the cooler’s overall installed height.

Moving up to the top of the cooler we can see there is a top-cap which of course gives this cooler the V8 engine look.

Looking at the cooler from the side we can see that it is actually a single-tower cooler. This is made possible because Cooler Master is making use of their 3D-heatpipe technology.

When it comes to the heatpipes, Cooler Master is using a hybrid arrangement of two patented 3D heatpipes and four superconductive composite heatpipes.

The way this works is a conventional U-shaped heatpipe transfers heat through two ends, while Cooler Master’s 3DHP design incorporates a T-junction that adds a third branch. This additional branch reaches toward the CPU hotspot, creating another path for heat to travel from the base into the heatsink. The four SCCHP heat pipes then help spread that thermal energy across the aluminum fin stack so a larger portion of its surface area can participate in cooling. Cooler Master also tunes the heat-pipe network specifically for each processor platform, with the AMD model targeting a Q-Max of 70 W per 3DHP and the Intel model targeting 90 W per 3DHP. These figures represent the heat-transfer capacity of the individual heat pipes and should not be confused with the maximum power consumption or TDP of the processor.

At the base of the cooler you’ll find a nickel-plated copper contact plate designed to transfer heat from the processor into the cooler’s hybrid heat-pipe network. Cooler Master offers platform-specific versions of the cooler because AMD and Intel processors have different heat-spreader characteristics. The AMD model uses a flat base designed to provide even contact with AM4 and AM5 processors, while the Intel model features a convex base intended to better match the slight curvature commonly associated with LGA 1700 and LGA 1851 processors.
