Corsair H115i RGB Platinum Liquid CPU Cooler Review

Final Thoughts
Corsair produces a lot of products these days from case fans to memory to gaming chairs and many things in between. Because of this it can make you start to question whether they might be spreading themselves too thin. As the saying goes, Jack of all trades, master of none. Because of this when we receive a Corsair product there is a tendency to sort of scoff and write them off. This is a mistake. It would seem the culture at Corsair is one of quality and dedication to producing better and better products. This is more and more evident as each generation of AiO coolers we get is incrementally better than the last. Things we find lacking they design into the next generation, things that should be changed they tweak and mold into that next cooler. The H115i RGB Platinum is the current pinnacle of that process.

The cooler itself, has a fantastic fit and finish. Every part of it seems to be well engineered and built with supreme precision. The touch of adding an aluminum top to the pump is a great example. It could have easily been left plastic as it was in the past, but plastic just wouldn’t deliver the same look and feel. The use of metal states, this product is high end. They’ve gone above and beyond to improve the installation process such that it is over almost before you even realize you’ve begun. Of course we must talk about the ARGB lighting. It’s excellent! The colors are vivid, the brightness is on point, and the dynamic range perfect. Coupled with this newest version of iCUE, it is a very strong selling point. The fans themselves are great, very quiet, and the noise they do produce isn’t unpleasant. Finally we would be remiss to not mention the performance, it’s also great. At 4th place in our round up it’s exactly where I would expect this size cooler to be. It would be more than enough cooling for most any users needs.

One simple truth in life, nothing is perfect. While the H115i RGB Platinum might be 99/100 let’s take a moment to point out just a couple areas of potential improvement. The one thing that always gets us when it comes to a Corsair AiO, the wiring. Because everything routes through the pump it mandates that the wiring will be visible in you main compartment. Perhaps it could be placed inside the sleeving that wraps the tubing? The other small niggle is the preinstalled TIM. That first layer is perfect, it couldn’t be better. But what about the extremely high possibility that you have to install the cooler a second time? Maybe throw a small additional tube of paste in the kit Corsair?

At $169.99 the pricing falls between the Pro and Con categories. The H115i RGB Platinum brings a lot of value and the price is very warranted, but it’s still a good bit of money for an AiO cooler.

Overall ThinkComputers would like to award the Corsair H115i RGB Platinum with a solid 10 out of 10 score and our Editor’s Choice Award!
