Corsair K68 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

Lights & Software
When you plug the K68 in and power on your machine you’ll notice that it lights up red. Red LEDs are the only form of backlighting on the keyboard, which in my opinion is just fine. There are three different levels of brightness and you can fully turn the LEDs off if you want.

The backlighting is per-key and looks really great. A lot of that is due to the red backing you’ll find under the keycaps, this really extenuates the red color and makes it look more vibrant. Besides just static backlighting there are a handful of lighting effects you can mess with if you download Corsair’s Utility Engine (CUE) software.

Corsair CUE is made to be a universal app for all Corsair gaming products. So if you have multiple Corsair products they can all be managed here. At the top it will list all Corsair devices you have connected to your system.

The first tab you are going to want to go into is Actions. Here you can remap every key on the keyboard, create macros, and more. The process of remaping keys and creating macros is extremely easy. Just press the + button and then choose what your action will do.

The next tab is lighting effects. Just like actions you press the + button and choose the lighting effect that you want. The lighting effects you have access to are static color, visor, rain, pulse, wave, type lighting (key), and type lighting (ripple).
