Final Thoughts
Corsair always seems to impress whether its with their cases, solid state drives, coolers, etc. We always seem to rate their products best in class in many categories and the Neutron XT solid state drive is no different. The drive was able to hit 561 MB/s read and 541 MB/s in ATTO Disk Benchmark, which makes it the fastest SATA solid state drive that we have tested lately! All of our other tests reflected the advertised speeds as well.
As I mentioned this drive is powered by the newer Phison PS3110 controller matched with Toshiba 19 nm MLC NAND. The drive has great features like the end to end data protection, Smart ECC, Smart Flush and Smart Refresh. You also have the ability to download Corsair’s SSD toolbox which allows you to monitor the drive, do a secure wipe and update the firmware on the drive.
It looks like Corsair truly has a high-performance solid state drive on their hands not only in terms of performance, but also in features. Right now the 240GB version that we reviewed today is selling for $159 at my favorite online retailer. Corsair is also offering this drive in 480GB and 960GB versions. Corsair also backs the drive with a 5-year warranty.
