Customers Receive Radeon RX 6700 XT With Adhesive Covers Still On From PowerColor

Powercolor might be in hot waters as their graphics cards assembly at PowerColor/TUL has mistakenly shipped its Radeon RX 6700 XT with thermal pad covers still in place.

Considering the huge number of graphic cards being shipped, there is a possibility of a small mistake, but is leaving the adhesive covers on the GPU cooler a small mistake?. No! As this might have changed the expected GPU behavior. Luckily, the user was able to spot blue covers sticking from under the cooler. Instead of returning the card, he took the risk to violate the warranty and opened up the cooler himself. Shockingly, he discovered that the thermal pads’ covers were intact.

The mistake can be traced back to the OEM factory that manufactures cards for PowerColor. It is possible someone might have forgotten to remove the covers, but the question is, how did the card clear their final inspection test in the first place.?
